I'm sure many of you know about the issues I had in my previous property

Well....there are more now

Turns out NONE of the accounts were closed (weren't in my name), I wasn't the last to move out (there is proof of this with the letting agents from the date I returned my keys) and was told by the last one they would be closed.

Just received a big fat pile of final demands for the utility accounts for the time

To top it all off, I can only get in touch with 3 of the 5 housemates, and understandably they are not happy about having to pay the extra to cover the others.

The letting agents have said we need copies of those bills to release the deposit, and only then the deposit can be released, however getting written stuff from the other two housemates can mean that we can get their share of the deposit for the bills.

This is all a bit of a head**** and is pretty confusing for me. Not to mention I'm pretty furious about being dumped with all of it.

I have £400 ish of unpaid bills, deposits were a bit over £200 each, so 1:3 in terms of paying for them, so if the 4 of us paid £100 each, then surely (assuming no damage to the property, which we scrubbed before I left) we should get the £200 + £100 from each of the other deposits?

Is there another way to do this? The bills weren't in my name but I seem to be the only one that has received a final demand..... (even though all their names are on it)

Sent them all an email today and cc-ed the letting agents, as I figure not replying is a reasonable enough way to say I am unable to contact them and have tried (uni emails too so no excuse that it isn't them etc)

Going to call the remaining companies to get the accounts closed, will also ask if it's possible to split it from them, so if it is I can send them my payment, and only be responsible for that

They have everyones, they never had mine on originally, but they have everyones....and as my name is first they get sent to me....

When I call them up I am going to give them the details for the letting agency to obtain forwarding details or their guarantors
