Lol I read it in the paper during the week.. what a load of nonsense.
Couple of lazy old farts, with nothing better to do than have a 2nd meaningless life.

Oh man, I read this in the metro the other day. I actually laughed out loud in total shock on a crowded bus, needless to say I got some funny looks.
There were a picture of them in the paper - totally fat slobs.
I heard the woman has found a new man whilst playing WoW though haha.
Second Life, tbh the name says it all.
Soooooooo... the skinny one in this relationship weighs in at 16 stone.
And looks about 40, despite being 28.
Warms the cockles of your heart.
I think 16 stone is a bit on the kind side tbh. Maybe if she lost a few... limbs.
Incapacity benefits.. UH HUH!!!
Today more than 15million users have created their own characters to roam around a virtual world interacting with each other.
Membership of the game is currently growing by 70,000 a day.
umm..as a matter of fact, I have an account in second life, and a very well groomed avatar there! on which, roughly have been spent, 85 quid, his skin, different hair styles, clothes, expensive suits everything, I like it very much, but its a balance, I go there like, once a week, spend a couple of hours at night, meet up with different friends, some from australia, some from the US, some Russians, etc, its fun, to talk and walk around, have parties, they have games etc there, you play with other members, its also a show of creativity.
I create avatar shapes and tatoos also, it has immense potential for creativity, and its like a showcase, where u show other people how you feel about clothing, colors, style, I think that is good...the positive side, offcourse it has the side where people tend to forget that its a game...but I think its a balancing exercise.
and yes, I have put my real life photo in the profile of my avatar, alot of people do that, helps alot, and I dont talk to people who say things like " in secondlife, we dont share anything about the real life", I dont believe in that crap, to be a friend, you need to tell me ur name, age, etc etc, dont expect me to flirt around coz your avatar is slim and blond..I have a lot of lady friends there, and I make a point to know them personally and for them to know me, no lies, no fantasies, the avatar is just a creative expression, the real you is what is important, show me that, end of story

Even so, I'd much rather spend that time with people face to face. With those things there are always elements missing that are part of real life, like the physical interaction with you and your partner. One particular thing that is missing that would really bug me is the inability to communicate humour too well. I would also rather get out and do things, hell I'd rather go out clubbing. And for me, that says alot.
Taking the step of creating a 'virtual you' is a step backwards in the social world in my oppinion.
