HEXUS is a commercial enterprise that has been around since... well I don't know when it started. The forums died bue to being hacked back in 2003, but they were going long before that.

I wouldn't worry about Hexus disappearing any time soon

That was before my time so I don't know.

The forums are bigger than they were and I believe there are now proper backups.
