Yeah if you can afford it its certainly a good card.
My turn!! It even has a picture!!
The Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L has got a good review:

It also has all solid capacitor design!

Intel.. so last week..
Except that all of the Phenom II processors are quoted as being > £150. Availability at launch is going to be crap(as usual in the UK) and there will also be the normal price gorging too(as usual in the UK).
The E5200 can be overclocked to 3ghz+ with even a cheap motherboard. The Gigabyte can reach a 375mhz FSB. Even to get to 3.3ghz on the E5200 you would only need a 264mhz FSB at most.
I am still using an E4*** series processor at ~ 3ghz and it is fine for most games and I have had it for nearly two years.
I have not seen anything on the 45nm Athlon X2 processors recently. Only the 65nm Phenom based Athlon X2 processors have been launched this week! When are the 45nm versions going to come out then?? It would be nice if AMD stopped pussyfooting around and launched the 45nm X2 processors first.
The recent Steam survey pointed that very few people use quad cores for gaming -mostly dual cores and single cores.
If I were the OP I would personally wait a few months and save up some more money. You can get a better graphics card and a faster processor (Phenom or whatever Intel has) instead of getting stop gap ones.
Then you can spend £600 to £700 and get a great system instead.

Couldn't that just have been something short and sweet.. it's too late for full sentances.
"Shut up, idiot" would have sufficed
Personally I like where AMD are going at the moment though, I'm bored with Intel, they're.. boring.
I never could be that rude unless I was drunk! I do like the AMD upgrade path but like I said the cheaper 45nm dual cores need to come out first. They need to take a leaf out of their graphics division...!
You could always try taking it to Game, the high street shop.
If you got ID they will give you cash for it. Or maybe Gamestation. That would probably be the quickest and easiest way to get rid of it.
I know Game will give you a better price for it if you trade it in. If there is nothing you want then they put it on the reward card to use when you want.
Actually CAT, I just realised. My mobo is the GA-P31-DS3L, not quite 'exactly' the same. Still, it's running great for the past day or so and I can't complain.
As for the OP, have you played/finished GoW2? I'm still enjoying it, doubt I'd give up my 360 any time soon. Also keeping my PS3 for MGS4 / BluRay. I think the 360 is the best 'all round' console out there and also has the most comfortable pads as well.
i don't know how Intel is so last week after doing loads of reading about the new Phenoms they are still not as good as core 2 they are meant as a mid range alternative CPU everyone of the Amd chips gets pasted by the Intel variant.
I was reading about the new phenomX2 i think it was a 9770 black edition which is going to replace the X2 6000 as there top dual core offering and it got lamped by the old 6000+ and intel's E5200 murdered them both and Intel's is already a 45nm part i agree i wouldn't buy a new high end core 2 rig but i would a cheaper one based around the Pentium E5200 as these can reach a 4ghz clock with a little know how.
I shall be jumping to the i7 after Xmas even though my current system is very fast if you can wait for the Intel i7 to come down i would. I use to love AMD cpu's but they are not in the league of intel.
