    I think we should all use as many "keywords" as possible in e-mail and phone calls in order to trigger whatever terrorism-o-trons they have.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Re: Private firm 'may run' phone log

    if this did happen I would simply ditch my personal phone and my personal Internet and be done. If the government (who are supposed to be working for us but it seems very much the other way) decide to take over our lives to such a degree then they can stick it and if they think I will go to work and pay my tax etc they can stick that as well.

    Re: Private firm 'may run' phone log

    The Government doing is already more than enough of a breach of privacy. But to put the icing on the cake, they want a private company to run it ?

    Thats just ridiculous.

    This is ridiculous, completely and utterly ridiculous. A tool for the government to spy on the people, how will this help terrorism? Terrorists don't just phone up, e-mail, and talk to other terrorists on forums or whatever. God, whoever thought of this idea should be shot.

    Well, have they still got any laptops they haven't lost yet?

    If think we're safe re: thumb drives ..... because I doubt they know what they are?

    As for CDs ..... hmmm. I wonder if they've thought about the potential security issues, especially of putting, oh, millions of people's personal data on a couple of CDs and slapping them in the (internal) post.

    A few years ago, I bought a new washing machine. Bear with me, it's relevant.

    The dealer took the old one away one Saturday morning, and I asked him how he was going to get rid of it. He said he was going to leave it out the back of his shop with a "do not remove" sign on it - it'd be gone by Monday morning.

    So how do you best guarantee data gets lost? Stick it on a CD, mark it "strictly confidential" and give it to the government. They'll have found some innovative and amusing way to screw up and lose it .... by Monday morning.

    It's lovely to see the Government giving us free speech. Maybe the money spent on this, could be put somewhere else, like the economy?
