    Contradicting News Titles

Just visited BBC news website home page and had a little chuckle in bemusement

The main article is "UK economy in 'frightening' decline " yet a little lower on the same page is "McGowan to fight Heathrow expansion".

Now without even reading either articles my first thought was; Heathrow expansion = jobs for providing the expansion and hopefully bring in more tourists therefore more money therefore supporting UK economy.

I know there are more arguments to the Heathrow expansion but I did a "lolwut?" reaction when I saw the titles of the two articles on the homepage.

It's not a problem I noticed; my train of thought is that if Heathrow does get expanded it would help bring in money for the country and for the people whether it be building it or as permanent workers needed to support the additional runway/flights. You have all this doom and gloom and here is a perfect opportunity to get a bunch of people employed building stuff and then once finished hopefully a bunch of foreigners to visit and leave us their well earned dosh.

it will be interesting to see how many people still care about the environment when un-employement exceeds 3 million!

I always thought Crewe Airport was a better idea than expanding heathrow. Why get more traffic to an already congested area of Greater London thats had about as many road improvesmnts as it can fit?
They should get shot of the stupid tolls at the Dartford crossing and build another airport there.

Loads still will. Its a religious movement based on the same "scientific" method as Intelligent Design.
