title says it all.
the missus and the little one both have a hamster each so we tried to mate them couple of weeks back as the male is long haired and about 2 now so the missus thought she would give it a try.
the first attempt we thought had failed after the male hamster initially jumped on the wrong end(i guess hamsters like foreplay too) so a week later we tried again and she wasnt interested, 2 days ago we thought she looked a little fat but figured the first attempt failed so were going by the second attempt expecting babies in about ten more days.
Last night the female crawls out of her bed her belly covered in blood, So the missus panics and thinks she has miscarried scoops her up in her ball and goes to clean out the mess from the cage.
She lifted the lid off the house to clean it to find about 8-10 small babies inside.
HERES were we need the advice everything we read says you shouldn't touch her for 2 days before and definitely not for about 2 weeks after but we weren't expecting babies,
Has anyone else had any how high is the risk now of her eating her babies and any other advice anyone has would be great
