    ITV's shambolic sports coverage

So... What do you all make of the fiasco that was last nights FA cup action on ITV.

If you've not seen it, here is what happened

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmDJolBRSHk

They reportly had "technical" issues which resulted in adverts being broadcast, just as Everton scored. They cut back to the game only for the goal to be missed and many were greeted with scenes of Everton celebrating and they all probably thought "what the hells going on?"

First it was the F1 fiasco with breaks at the times where all the crashes and best overtaking action was going on and now this.

    What next ?

The 100m dash in the 2012 olympics with the gun going off and Bolt blistering off to a good start, only for a DFS advert to appear 1/2 way through the race ruining any coverage at all?

ITV have shown they cannot broadcast ANY sport right and I hope to god, next year the BBC gets the rights to the FA Cup.

Also, to make things worse you had Mr Grade on the news saying he's sorry and was dissapointed and that he's an avid football follower and understands the complaints they've had. I'm sorry but he sounded so patrinising and his apology was like a 6 year old going "soooooooooorry" like they say when they don't really mean it.

It could've been worse, it could've cut to a blue movie with some guy shaking his really large winkle!

I obviously don't watch the kinda programmes that you're into Lee. I prefer the ones with women in them!

    Re: ITV's shambolic sports coverage

My ITV area cut to an advert but cut back to the match after a few seconds so I saw the build up to the goal and the goal live.

I aggree ITV's sports coverage is poor - I cannot put my finger on it but the football coverage is rubbish this latest incident in another nail in the coffin

They have been caught out showing adverts when something interest is happening in the Grand prix - not really bothered to watch than much of it for that reason in recent years.

    Re: ITV's shambolic sports coverage

In fairness to ITV they couldn't have been more unlucky with the timing, although that doesn't excuse the fact it should never have happened in the first place. If the goal wasn't scored during the advert then people would have laughed about it a bit and ITV would have got off the hook.

I don't know whether it's just me but live sports coverage no matter what the channel seems to be lacking a bit recently anyway. Although I didn't mind Ozzie Open tennis on the red button where they literally showed the match and that was it
