    Re: Who is responsible?

the problem i find building for other people is when they screw up windows 'which they always do' they phone you up and say 'computers broke' and expect you to fix it for free for the next 3 years, as if its your fault they clicked on a virus or installed some crap. i tend to push them towards dell or similar and be done with it.

Its really true though, but most of my mates get me food out or make it up in some other way. I slap others with an invoice though ...

    Re: Who is responsible?

I abandoned building/buyingbits PC's for anyone a good 6 to 7 years ago for reasons like this. Even as a favour.
I have however specced up PC's for mates, let them buy the bits and helped them make the PC's themselves. So far, no problems that bother me

    Re: Who is responsible?

Well, for one thing i wouldn't trust myself to build good PC's. Only just good enough to build for myself and have built for some relatives. Other than that, too much hassle to build for work mates etc. Couldn't handle the moans etc!! Seen enough of what my Brother-In-Law has to put up with!!

Next time he got called out to his mates he Formatted the PC and all was ok once more.

Then a few days later his mate called him again saying the picture had gone again. He then collected the PC and connected it up at home only to find he could not 'Replicate' the problem.

The guys not changing the resolution on the monitor is he, that would explain why he's getting the windows screen and then its going off before the desktop appears...

Is this why you have so much stuff for Sale in the HEXUS forums?

Or is that just cynical on my behalf?

    Yes, you are cynical!! lol

Reason for various bits for sale is that i am always buying things for me and the wife's pc's!! Always upgrading and trying new things!! Whats wrong with that?

Anyway, back on topic. Lets see what this week brings as apparently the TFT is being swapped out by the manufacturer.
