Amazon - ordered on 5th - reported to be dispatched on the 9th....Its in stock. What the hell?
The only thing that I can think of is that I used a debit card this time instead of a credit card...
(EDIT: I chose free delivery too)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Indeed, but last time I chose free del it was dispatched....oh wait, it was l4d that I preordered...although I got it on the day of release so.. hmmmm
Should have stated that I chose free delivery, shall amend.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So you choose 5 day delivery then you complain that it takes 5 days?
Some people aren't happy with what they don't pay for are they?
Yes, I nearly put 'happy when they get what they pay for' then. Then I reread the thread and realised that that comment would be a little stupid.

Free delivery from amazon, USED to be almost as good as payed for. In most cases it would turn up a couple of days later (maybe a day after 1st class). I reckon that since they dropped the limit for free postage, they're really cutting back..
I'm guessing that free delivery orders are bunched up and shipped out at the same time, so that they get a bulk shipping discount, therefore keeping the order waiting until the pickup date, which could be that day, or a few days away.
Sometimes it is worth just paying for a quicker delivery.
It's this one. It all depends on their work load and backlog. If things are going smoothly, it'll get dispatched ASAP, if there's plenty of orders in, then it's a lower priority than someone who has paid for something (which is the fairest way of going about things in my opinion).
It's been like this with Amazon for ages now. It all depends on how many orders are in at any given time.
Rather different to Play recently, who, according to the order history, dispatched a book I ordered on the 4th, then it was dispatched again on the 5th, and now on the 6th. Maybe they've had problems with the weather, so it's just jumping from shed to shed or something.![]()
In my experience Amazon free delivery is much poorer than it used to be. The cynic in me thinks this is all part of their plan to promote Amazon Prime where you pay £45 up front for delivery and then you get fast delivery "free" for every order made from people living at your address for a year.
