    Bloody eBay again..

The missus stuck our old leather corner unit sofa thing up on the bay.
Got a few people make some silly low offers and then lastnight we got a decent offer and accepted it.

Today we get a messaage from the guy saying that his missus made the offer and that he had already bought a sofa..
Temped to tell him its not my fault he cant control his wife and gives her access to the PC when she should be in the kitchen (altho his name would suggest he's Muslim so whats she doing talking to men on the internet /end stereotype)..

Annoyance now cos my missus wants rid so she can redesign the front room again...

    Re: Bloody eBay again..

You've never met my missus have you

Opened a cancel transaction thing thru ebay.

This case has been opened by the seller with the following reason: The buyer purchased item in error.
Additional information provided by the seller: If the buyer doesn't want his wife to purchase items willy nilly he should make sure she cannot use
his account, at the end of the day it is his responsibility.

Haven't they entered into a binding contract by confirming a bid? You don't have to take a sympathetic approach

No, of course you don't. I was just saying, since you were annoyed in your first post, that you don't have to put up with it. I would let em off too

Better to cancel the bid than have to relist the thing. Same thing happened on my last auction.

how on EARTH would you MAKE a bloke in another city, who you've neve rmet, come over in a van and take away the sofa, and pay cash at the same time?

    I mean.... how?

Worse still, Trig as the seller, cant give them Negative feedback but they COULD give him negative if he so much as showed any annoyance with them.... ebay is worth while but getting harder and harder to justify.

It doesn't quite work like that. If the guy doesn't honour the contract and it goes to court, provided Trig wins he will keep the sofa and get the money.
Before anyone calls bull**** I got a car for free that way.
