    Maplin Delivery Service. Waw!!!

Well, yesterday i needed to order a New Motherboard for my wifes PC. Looked around Scan, Ebuyer etc but one i wanted was out of stock! So, i decided to check out Maplin Online.

Well, the motherboard was in stock, £10 cheaper with FREE DELIVERY!

    So, ordered it.

Guess what? It came this morning!! Saturday too!!!! Fantastic or what?

what motherboard was it? If it was cheaper at maplin I am going to assume it's an old one? Did it come by royal mail or a courier?

    I like Maplin.

They get a hard time from a lot of people, but they have their uses and it turns out they can be outstanding at time

Personally I've always found Maplin way overpriced but I suppose there must be bargains to be found.

Totally agree. Going to their stores, you'd think they have a competition going with PC World for 'who has the grapefruits to overprice old generation hardware more?'

I have to say alot of their stuff is way over priced. They are quite good if you have one close and you need something small that day, I did pick up a 320 cd wallet in there the other day for £10, that was pretty good.

    Re: Maplin Delivery Service. Waw!!!

Maplins are great if you can shop around and pick out their bargains.
I needed some 20mm fuses once (1A, 3A, 6A and 10Amp), and in the Maplins in Edgeware Road I got the 1 Amp and 10 Amp ones for 80p for 10, but they didn't have any 3 or 6 Amp ones.
Going to an electronics store, I had to pay 35p each for the 3 and 6 Amp ones.
Another time I needed a torx screwdriver to remove a faulty relay from a panel, so I popped into Maplins and asked
"You got any Torx drivers?" and the salesman said
"We've only got this at £9.99..." pointing to a set, then he added
"But if you buy it you get THIS for free" and he showed me another set of screwdrivers in a case.
I ended up with about 40 Torx, Philips, Flat and Allen drivers for £10.
On the other hand I asked about an 8GB USB memory stick (Sandisk), and it was £35 in Maplins, when PC World was selling the same thing for £20.
