    Is this allowed?

    http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7914542.stm

Rynair to charge people to go to the toilet on a plane. Ok for short flights but if you were on a long one suring denying people basic human rights for free is wrong. Its not like they have anywhere else to go.

Plus what about the pilots. Does that mean that they have to pay to go the toilet at work. That i'm sure is illegaly unless they have some sort of scheme were you can reclaim it. I know i'd be proper peeved off if i had to start paying to go the toilet at work.

Once a few passengers start doing it on the floor, they'll soon change their tone.
I'm not encouraging that, but it would only be a matter of time until someone did.

Good job they don't do long haul else it would be down right dangerous to not urinate for a long length of time just because you don't have the penny to spend.

I reckon this is just a calculated hoax - a suggestion of something crazy just to get loads of media attention and publicity for free.

And then they introduce something not quite as controversial and people say "oh well, at least they are still letting you use the toilet for nothing".

Well they might as well charge for breathing on the flights if they start charging to go to the toilet.

What they really want is a weight based system where 22 stone lardy-assed people that take up 2 seats with their overhang start to get charged more than customers who are of normal weight

This would give them incentives to loose weight wouldn't it?

Since when was free access to a toilet a human right? Although, there's bound to be some legislation requiring toilets available for free to the staff.

It's similar to charging for toilets in a town centre, the only problem I see with it is that what happens when people don't have any change?
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

I'm not sure its a human right but i thinks there is something. Plus on a plane you don't actually have anywhere else to go do you.

    Re: Is this allowed?

On a bus or coach theres usually not a toilet, yes then could pull over, but if your on a national express bus, and its not a designated stop, you'll be lucky.

Also most major train stations charge you to go.
