Yes, definitely happens to me.
My masters project is entirely in C... requires a lot of Ballmer peaks.

At one company I worked at, significant parts of the code base where coded late night by one person while spaced out on weed. The code was quite hard to decypher and contained a lot of strange indirection, but was fast, bug free, and very clever.
Yes... and it used to happen at around 2am - 4am.
Always got my best coding done at that time of the morning.
