don't think i've ever been that 'touched' by song, some lyrics do..but..meh ... other than that the closest to be being 'touched' would probably be Stereophonics (euurghlak, can't stand them normally!) - Chris Chambers.

It's one of the best songs about River Phoenix I ever heard.

You've done something to your hair,
And a ring is something you would never wear,
    Though you've changed your style
The smile is just the same,
Thought time has put a little sadness there,

Don't try to fool me, I knew you back at school
We used to be, a little more than friends

    Remember Then?
Never thought I'd see you again

    We went our separate ways,
And I went searching for a dream,
    I'll admit there's been days
When I wonderered how it might have been
Don't try to fool me, by your acting cool,
I bet you never thought, you'd see me again,

    Remember then?

We almost made it, we played the game of love,
It's too late now, to pick up all the ends

    Remember then?
Never thought I'd see you again.

Gallagher & Lyle - you can guess the title.

There's a few songs that really touch me

    1. Everybody Hurts - REM
    2. Power of Love - Frankie Goes to Hollywood (instrumental version)
    3. Surprisingly a few of Eminem's due to the words and meaning behind them
    4. The one always guaranteed to end me in tears - Bairns of Dunblane. One line just starts me off and that is "Who can comprehend taking the life of a child, but 16 bloody times a 5 year old dies....."

    Some people say

Some people say that what I know should be kept secret,
Some people say I don't know anything at all,
Some people say that what I do could be dangerous,
Some people say I don't do anything at all.

Some people say this is a song that needs the drums in,
Some people say no it's a song for the bass,
Some people say that they can't stand what they're hearing,
Some people say who gives a damn what they say.

Do you think I care, do you think I care,
Do you think I know or I'm aware,
Do you think I care what you say when I'm oblivious.

Some people say that I look just like my father,
Some people say I've got my mother's eyes,
Some people say I'm like my brother 'cos I'm honest and truthful,
Some people say they know my brother's just another lie.

Do you think I care, do you think I care,
Do you think I know or I'm aware,
Do you think I care what you say when I'm oblivious.

Some people say that we should let the search continue,
Some people say just what the hell's going on.

Do you think I care, do you think I care,
Do you think I know or I'm aware,
Do you think I care what you say when I'm oblivious.

Knoxville I have to agree with you.

    Metallica - Fade to black
Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime (whole album)
Marillion - Forgotten Sons (have ben known to shed a tear during this)

I am sure their are many others, but too warm to think straight at the moment and besides big brother is on live on E4.

Way to go Michael !!! 6 wins and counting !!!

3 Doors down played your student union? Did you go in the end? They are one of my favourite bands atm, following 'here without you' whihc is a great song!

I think the song that gets me the most is Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits, though I love the whole 'on the night' live album. Also, 'Nothing Else Matters' by metallica just brings back memories of high school a few years back now...

    Creed - My Sacrifice

Hello my friend, we meet again
It's been awhile, where should we begin?
    Feels like forever
    Within my heart are memories
Of perfect love that you gave to me
    Oh, I remember

When you are with me, I'm free
    I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
    My sacrifice

We've seen our share of ups and downs
Oh how quickly life can turn around
    In an instant
It feels so good to reunite
Within yourself and within your mind
    Let's find peace there

When you are with me, I'm free
    I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
    My sacrifice

I just want to say hello again
I just want to say hello again

When you are with me I'm free
    I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
Cause when you are with me I am free
    I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
    My sacrifice, My sacrifice

I just want to say hello again
I just want to say hello again

    My sacrifice.
    and

Linkin Park - Pushing Me Away

    I've lied to you
The same way that I always do
    This is the last smile
That I'll fake for the sake of being with you

    (Everything falls apart
Even the people who never frown
    Eventually break down)
The sacrifice of hiding in a lie
    (Everything has to end
You'll soon find we're out of time left
    To watch it all unwind)
    The sacrifice is never knowing

    Why I never walked away
Why I played myself this way
Now I see you're testing me pushes me away
    Why I never walked away
Why I played myself this way
Now I see your testing me pushes me away

    I've tried like you
To do everything you wanted too
    This is the last time
I'll take the blame for the sake of being with you

    (Everything falls apart
Even the people who never frown
    Eventually break down)
The sacrifice of hiding in a lie
    (Everything has to end
You'll soon find we're out of time left
    To watch it all unwind)
    The sacrifice is never knowing

    Why I never walked away
Why I played myself this way
Now I see you're testing me pushes me away
    Why I never walked away
Why I played myself this way
Now I see you're testing me pushes me away
    (We're all out of time
This is how we find how it all unwinds)
The sacrifice of hiding in a lie
    (We're all out of time
This is how we find how it all unwinds)
    The sacrifice is never knowing
    Why I never walked away
Why I played myself this way
Now I see you're testing me pushes me away
    Why I never walked away
Why I played myself this way
Now I see you're testing me pushes me away
    Pushes me away
In fact, most of LPs songs are motivational
