I didnt say i was the only one with a valid opinion on it.
I said i had 1st Hand opinions. It doesnt make them right and i grant you that. All i can do is speak as i found it rather than speak how it is drip fed to me from the media.
Your facts about WMD and 'constantly' invading arab nations is so far from the mark its just untrue!
- WMD's or not, have you seen how the government in Iraq treated normal civilians apart from the TV?
- The TV makes out that normal civilians in these countries didn't want the coalition forces there. THats simply untrue aswell for the VAST majority of people i came across.
- Which Arab nations are we constantly invading btw?
- Iran is a problem nation that historically is also a problem to the countries surrounding it. It also so happens that the way they are conducting themselves, they will turn out to be a threat to countries that are not neighbours aswell.

I was talking about Israel with illegal WMDs/invasions of other countries.
IMO, Iran wouldn't be a problem right now if the UK and US hadn't deposed their democratically elected and secular government in favour of fundamentalist theocracy during the 1950s. That came right back to bite us in our arses.
edit; nevermind, i doubt seeing Isreal's point of view would end well for me!
edit2; But i will say that what Blitzen is saying sums up my feelings aswell.

It has. That came right back to bite us in our arses.
So to that end, it needs dealing with.
The same thing happened in Afghanistan........
i think the best opinion i have ever heard on the whole israel pallestine situation was in ZOHAN
he turns to his mum and says i want to be a hairdresser blah blah blah am fed up with the fighting.
and his mum turns round and says
"they've been fighting for 2000 years surely it will be over soon"
I'm sorry, but that's quite ridiculous. Apart from being a blatant warmonger, have you considered the implications of an armed invasion of Iran? How about all the innocent people that would be killed. This kind of mentality is just like that of Bush.
Woah, hang on just a minute there. You're saying you've been to some Arab countries, but not the one we're actually discussing? Where is the relevance in that mate? I'm afraid such comments don't exactly work wonders for the credibility of your statements.I have spent the majority of my working life working around the Middle East in a military capacity and i can honestly say, i have seen what things are like 1st hand. Albeit not in Palestine, but definitely the like of the Gulf state countries.
The gulf is as different as is possible to imagine from the situation in Palestine/Israel.
FYI, I myself have been all over Palestine/Israel, both recently and during the so called "peace-time" in 1999. I've seen the situation for myself. And yes, things are as grim as the (more reputable) news agencies make them out to be.
I'm not sure about the exact definition of what a WMD is, but let me tell you something. Israel had, in the 80's, an arsenal of at least 200 nuclear weapons. Despite the whistle-blower who get sentenced to 18 years (11 in solitary confinement) by Israel for exposing the secret program, the world did absolutely nothing. God knows how many weapons are hidden away at Dimona now. So Israel can have as large a nuclear arsenal as it likes, without declaring a thing, whilst the whole world is on Iran for simply having the capability to create a single weapon?Originally Posted by Blitzen
Further, Israel has already demonstrated it will use a range of hideous, inhumane weapons designed to maim and slowly kill. How about shrapnel explosives, and white phosphorus? Do you have any idea how terrible white phosphorus is?
As for Iran being a source of instability, Iran isn't the country that sparked a 6 decade long conflict.
Apart from being completely incorrect, and representative of a common misconception, that's just not funny at all.Originally Posted by danroyle

Unfortunately even if they wanted to, they cant. Israel receives significant support from the USA and western Europe. Any UN resolution that is remotely against Israel's interests is instantly vetoed by the USA and the UK.Can nobody stand up to Israel?
Also I'd like to add, after internal investigation on the war in Gaza, the IDF has concluded that it is one of the most moral armies in the world.
