    got 3 and a half

    1. main rig, for gaming, downloading web browsing.
    2. shuttle for chatting in front of the tv also comes in handy when the lads are round as its a fairly capable games pc.
    3. linux bix that I play with from time to time, next time I start with it il install slackware and use it for web/ftp/whatever server.
1/2 I have another complete 1.3ghz PC but it wont work, might replace the mobo and see if it works as im sure the other components are ok.

only using the shuttle and main rig at the minute due to exploding 17" monitor...

Hmm. I'd just leave my main rig going whilst I'm at college or something if I ever wanted to render something. I guess it's more useful for someone who does it as a living though

In the house there are 5:

2 normal PCs, 1K6-2 and 1 Athlon 1400 I think, we bought the new one and didn't ditch the other so most work gets done on the K6 and a bit of gaming on the Athlon.

Then me, my sis and my dad have laptops seeing as we're always out and about, me and sis both board at school and dad works away a lot.

Nothing exciting really, not upgraded other than out of necessity (bust moniter) for years and don't really have any plans to. No networking either which is anoyying, to share the ADSL around we have to fight over who plugs in the modem!

3: main comp and previous comp which could now be built up again as I've replaced everything with this build. I also have a P200MMX which I found in a skip. It works but I have no use for it. Finally I have two spare boards, an 8RDA+ and a BP6. The BP6 has leaky caps, and although I have the replacements, I've never got round to soldering them in, but I will someday, I fancy some SMP action on the cheap.

I have more monitors than computers, for no particularly good reason.

Hehe. It'd probably cost more to ship a 17" monitor to the IOM than it would to buy one there!.

Still, I could find out the cost if he's interested in a non-flatscreen 17" monitor. I was actually given them in exchange for transporting a third monitor for a chap who doesn't have a car, so easy come easy go, I wouldn't want much for them. I could use the space.
