    Yeah, I got the same. I still have my Duct Tape wallet around somewhere but I now use a wallet I got free from work. My gripe with it is that the coin purse bit is on the middle; it should be on the outside so that you can still fold it in half regardless of how much change you have.

    Have you seen how much duct tape there is out there these days..

    I remember bookmarking something similar to this way back, as a possible.. wasn't sure if it would be too thin.. doesn't seem to be available now though.

    Plus some of the cooler patterned stuff seems to be outside the UK.. this platypus tape for one..

    (and I think importing might be going over the top)

    still, IF I can find the right tape..

    One solution is to make the base wallet out of normal duct tape for the strength and then cover it with the thinner patterned tape.

    Actually I hadn't thought of that I had ideas of sticking 2 layers of tape together to make a thicker tape, but I could see that ending in a twisty wrinkly mess.

    Gawd, it's such an obvious thing to do. I have done something similar with a leather wallet. Here's how it's done:

    1. Buy a leather wallet;

    2. Buy some duct tape in whatever urban, industrial, environmental style that catches your fancy;

    3. Cover the wallet entirely with the duct tape; and

    4. Hey presto!

    Yee-ees. Well....

    Turning my back on that sterling idea (and on the excesses of a 'brazilian rosewood + white linen trim + metal corners kit' - I'm not joking - ) - I am going to adhere (ha ha) to the founding principles and go with this.

    Apt in so many ways and if I make a hideous botch, it will have built-in quality-control. Clever eh.

    You appear to have been assisted in your endeavours by a small turd. That's cheating

    Some of us have elves; some of us have a German clockwork turd in little red felt shorts.

    Actually I only co-opted him for Stage 1; after that he just sort of.. took over..
