Thread: Where do i stand with this online order?

    Where do i stand with this online order?

    Hi guys,

    Basically i ordered a few things on Sunday night (not tech related) I paid extra for a DHL 24 hr delivery. Well came to yesterday and i still had not received my order so i email the retailer and they tell me its sent out so i thought "Ok it will be here tomorrow but hardly 24hrs".

    Today has came and still no delivery so they tell me to contact DHL with my tracking number. I done this and DHL tell me they delivered it to an O'Neill. Now my name is not o'Neill and i have no idea who that is. All i know is that i haven't got the order i payed for.

    So DHL have told me i need to contact the company and they have to go through some kind of incident report to see what all has happened.

    So does this mean i have to wait till all this is sorted before i get my order or are the company obliged to send me a replacement or refund? I haven't got a reply from the retailer yet to see what they said but i have asked for a full refund as it hasn't been delivered to the address i gave them.

    Hope someone can tell me what my options are The order was about £150 so at this point im broke and cant afford to wait as i need the stuff now.

    you will probably have to wait a few days until it has been investigated to make sure you are not just on the fiddle sadly.

    Ok, it's fairly straight forward. You contact the company, explain that you haven't recieved your parcel and that the tracking information states that it was signed for by a name you don't recognise. Ask them politely if they can contact the carriers and find out where the item was delivered.

    This should take 24 hours to resolve under normal circumstances, as the carrier company will have to "interview" the driver. Once complete they should either a) be able to tell you at which address your order is or b) be despatching you a replacement order.

    If they try to stick it on you, simply cancel the order in writing under the Distance Selling Act, though it'll take up to 28 days to get a refund unfortuantely.
