    Vue Rage

In Sheffield we have quite a good choice of cinemas basically Cineworld, Vue and Odean.

Most people dont go to the Odean as its old and crap.

Most recently ive been going to vue ALOT, decided to go and see terminator with my two brothers at 13 and 6, got to cinema at 6pm for the showing at 6:10.... to be turned away because they were showing it as a Over 18 screening only at that time with normal screening 2 hours later....

I complained to the manager who pethetically explained the reason it wasnt clear on their website and then he just walked off while i was mid sentence.... very bad customer service.

Had to go to cineworld and wait 40 mins for a screening there.
Anybody else think this is ridiculous to make a over 18 screening for a 12A film?

    Re: Vue Rage

I think it's great....means I don't have to listen to irritating dumb little turds who think it's witty to spew a running commentary to their dumb little turd mates during the film...

Maybe I should start an 'adolescent rage' thread....

    Re: Vue Rage

I agree that must be pretty annoying, but i would go to the cinema alot more if there were more over 18 showings no matter the age of the film.

Often had a good film runined by the behaviour of groups of kids in our local cinemas (not for a moment suggesting you and your bros would be trouble!)

    Re: Vue Rage

na cause alot of kids wont shut up lol - however it should be more clear and also one would assume it would be at times more suitable for over 18s

not including the ones mentioned in the OP

    Re: Vue Rage

For an early afternoon/evening showing then yeah kinda ridiculous, but no I quite like cinemas having over 18 screenings for any film doesnt matter on the certification, as it generally means theres more peace and quiet and no kids pissing around.

    Re: Vue Rage

I enjoy over 18 showings, I have having to put up with little runts spoiling a film by making a load of noise of on their phone.

As for the Vue stuff, it does clearly state over 18 showings on their site.

Key:GC = Gold Class* = Late evening showing** ST = Subtitled

*Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult to all Gold Class screenings

**Late shows are from 10.30pm until the last performance and are only available to over 18's

I looked up Terminator Salvation and there were 2 seperate entries, one clearly said 'Over 18 only'. Not their fault if you didn't read it

    Re: Vue Rage

I like the idea of over 18 screenings. the same reason as above avoids kids saying stuff like "omg i get it now" 10minutes after it happened...
I found the over 18 screenings to be clear on the vue website.

according to the poster in the vue i go to over 18 screenings have been wanted for ages.

    Re: Vue Rage

I too think it's a great idea, I'm sick to death of all the arsey little 12 years olds talking, fidgeting and generally pissing about. Another thing that annoys me is when parents take advantage of the "Anyone allowed into a 12 as long as they are accompanied by an adult" rule. When I went to go and see Quantum of Solace it was almost ruined by a baby crying through half of it.

Shame I'm sill too young too get to one the over 18 viewings

(A group of annoying teenagers had been removed from one of the screens in the cinema for being loud and causing a huge disturbance.)

Teenager: “I want a refund. I want to talk to a manager. This is unfair!”

Usher: “Well, you can talk to a manager, but they’ll tell you the same thing I’ve told you.” *calls manager over*

    Manager: “What’s the problem here?”

Teenager: “We’ve been kicked out of the cinema because apparently someone said we were being noisy and disturbing the film.”

    Manager: “Yes?”

Teenager: “Yeah, well, we think it’s unfair and we want a refund.”

Manager: “And why should we give you a refund?”

Teenager: “Well you know how it is… you come to the cinema to have a laugh and a chat with your mates–”

Manager: “No you don’t. You come to the cinema to watch a film. Get out.”
I would definitely like to see more over 18 showings...or chairs which knock you out if you talk during the movie
