    Futurama is back....

An insider told Collider.com that the network has given the series an order for 13 additional episodes to air now that the network has run through all of the series' original episodes and the four full-length DVD movies.

    Re: Futurama is back....

This was announced years ago and nothing came of it. After watching the original series through many times i think i can safely say i won't be going out of my way to watch the new series, purely based on the fact its taken them so long to air it

The 'specials' were not particularly special.

Got to agree with that, I'm a huge fan but I found the jokes were generally a bit lame and worn out. If they can't come up with any good, original material the leave it be.

    Re: Futurama is back....

I think with a new set of 20 minute episodes it'll be as funny as it used to be.

The team can't handle writing films, the Futurama format doesn't really lend itself to it. Much like Family Guy - it's too random to hold up for that long.

    Re: Futurama is back....

I'm glad they stopped making the TV series when they did. I love the show and I would rather be left wanting more than wishing they would go away, à la The Simpsons. I haven't seen the films, so I can't comment on them, but I think most of the TV episodes were great.

A lot of the times TV shows make comebacks they seem like a struggle and don't have the magic of the originals, like Red Dwarf.

    Re: Futurama is back....

To me Futurama has always been a mixed bag. Some episodes have been piss yer' pant hilarious, and some have been pretty mediocre. Still can't wait.

    Re: Futurama is back....

I love the series but the specials and films were a let down, if this is the same format as the originals I may take a look, otherwise I won't bother.

    Re: Futurama is back....

I hope they bring back Futurama properly. old Futurama was awesome. much better than Simpsons IMO (they have done pretty much everything now) . but the stupid americans never got it so it got cancelled. there is so much more that can be done with Futurama.
