Greedy people want a blooming payrise AND work less hours during a recession? are they mad? sorry but imo they are greedy ungrateful morons if that the case.

my mate who is a train driver earns 40k STARTING salary and i have another mate work works as one of those guys who just stands next to the barrier all day earning 24k.

I don't get how the union bosses are allowed to hold an entire city to ransom. It's a shame we don't have class action suits, I reckon a few law suits against the union should make them see sense.

haha i've got visions of banks suing the RMT, making them bankrupt every time they strike. If that happened how could they possibly contribute to the labour party?

Is it at all possible that the London tube network only hire people with a clause written into their contract saying they can't be part of a union.

Completely and utterly illegal unfortunately. The right to form a union has been part of legislation for a long, long time (IIRC it first started back in the 1900's).

What the issue is, isn't that the workers are in a union, but that the union is led by a bunch of greedy, self serving idiots who probably missed out on a career in politics only by virtue of their looks. They aren't even looking out for their member's interests any more.

Im not to overly bothered, as hardly ever use the tube (how can people put themselves through that travel daily )

When i used to work "9-5" only downside was all those tube customers suddenly wanting to use the train, - im sure it will be even more "snug" in rush hour in the morning for those

Yup, as someone who needs to use the DLR to get to work (and hates it already!), I am really not looking forward to battling with the influx of people seeking "alternative routes" to work for the next couple of days.

You can be sure that the DLR will have a problem during evening rush hour

The strike also has further implications for those not directly effected....work collegues who will be working remotely/taking time off and leaving a skeleton crew to deal with everything for 2 days.


I will definitely be leaving work early tomorrow and thursday to beat the rush!
