    RAC satnav

    Hello,
im thinking about buying a RAC 315 europe sat nav.
    http://www.66.com/rac/
    http://www.racshop.co.uk/categories/...gory_id/racsat

does anyone know if they are worth buying?

I wanted to check before i purchased.

feel free to offer alternitive sat navs at similar price.
I dont have any prefrence with make.

Edit I think a UK sat nav lastest model will be better since im not likely to visit anywhere outside of the UK with my car for aorund £100-130

thanks in advance for any help.

Navigo? Yeah they are fairly good, you can custom install tomtom/garmin etc on an SD card as the pre installed turbodog is pants

    Hello schmunk,
can you tell me about some of the features?
such as does it have full postcode search?

does it offer the lastest map free within for example 30days?

    Yes to postcode search.

Yes to free map (and 'safety' camera map) update on registering.

    Re: RAC satnav

I wouldn't touch an RAC satnav if you gave me one for free! I would go with a Tom Tom, Garmin or Navigon....

TomTom are the most straightforward and have the most regular map updates, Navigon has an awesome interface and the Garmin are widely renowned for being accurate and fairly easy to get used to

    Re: RAC satnav

I have used Tom Tom, Garmin and various other sat navs but i must say i was most impressed with Garmin. Not to say Tom Tom isn't good but i found the maps more clearly displayed on the Garmin.

I would suggest a quick visit to halfords to have a look at their range and each machine's ability to relocate satellites if interupted (eg: going into tunnels).

Am i right in saying that V2 cannot have additional maps installed due to lack of memory but V3 can?
