I dunno if I've ever seen this asked here before, but I've been thinking about how people come to make up their nicknames they use on the internet. Some of us (i.e. the boring ones with no imagination what-so-ever like me) use their name, but others are really quite random and/or imaginative.
So, if you have a nickname/moniker/alternative identity that you use on the web, how did you come about creating it? Does it mean something special to you or others? Is it something you like or aspire to be? Is it related to entertainment in any way (character from a film/book/comic etc)?
I'm hoping this thread might also help others to broaden their imagination and create their own unique identity if they haven't already got one.
For example, in EVE Online my character name is Allen Jameson. "Allen" is obviously my first name, but "Jameson" comes from Commander Jameson of Elite, and later, one of his grandchildren in Frontier: Elite II, my favouritist ever Amiga game when I was a wee nipper.
It's not really to do with my nickname, but it's a start in the hope others will follow and divulge the information some of us are probably dying to know about how people chose their forum names!![]()
