A much more productive use of gyros than the stegway. Looks great, I hope that they can make them cheap enough for people that use them.
Funnily enough though I seem to remember seeing a similar design before, but I can't remember if it was in a movie or on tommorows world ! :)
Swear I saw that on Blue Peter when Tim Vincent was presenting it....
Wheelchairs, although restricting for the user, are pretty cool in some of their technology aspects. The ones which help you get on a bus, for example, good stuff.
cool, maybe it will stop the rediculous regulations forcing stores / museums etc to spends huge sums on elevators and wheelchair lifts. but anyone else think it would be damn scary to go up a steep set of stairs in one of them??
This was on (UK) TV recently, like a month or so ago. It was very impressive to see in action. It was probably Tomorrows World, not sure though.
i want one... im ultra lazy and a wheelchair that gets me up stairs aswell GODSEND!!!!!!!!!!!!
look wicked, bet it will set you back a bit tho eek
how much of a grant, if any do disabled people get to buy motorised wheel chairs cos that thing looks cool but i doubt, like many have said, any one would be able to easily afford it.
i want one so bad, it'd be worth mockin Knox till he flipped and made me need one of those, haha
I'm more interested in how they're gonne get down the stairs!
Freestyle wheelchair racing anyone? :D
sounds amusing, go on then! just gotto get my hands on a wheelchair now...hmm...
hehe. that'd be funny in a crule sort of way.
The wheels probably break but still that has to be dodgy.
"Caution: SLipery surface" Would be a funny scenario.
(Evil grin)
when i was in primary school there was a boy with one of those and he used to let people have a go on it. It was wicked.
my dad used to be a welder for a wheelcahir company, so whenever i hurt my feet or legs (rather often when i was young, rather accident prone...) i got a top-of-the-line sports wheelchair to play with on loan until i got better. was great fun until the company sent a load of the work to Taiwan and made my dad redundant....spose that's a moan for another thread tho
An old mate of mine had Clubed feet and had a bunch of opperations when we were younger and went into a wheel chair about 3 times for about a couple of months while he had his frame on. He got well good. I think there should be a whole area of Xtream sports dedicated to it.
i've seen a guy in a wheelchair racing downhill with mountain bikers, it was mad
My mate could wheely the thing and go downstairs on it and everything. He was a risky little B***ard cos he would race us on our bikes while he had the frames on. 8 pins going through each foot and leg. I used to hang out with him evey day and I was there when his mom had to tighten them to straighten the bone. It looked so unbelivably painful. poor bloke
