From what I've heard, most German Autobahns do have a fixed speed limit, and the ones that don't often have a limit put in place during bad conditions.
[Edit: Looking at Wikipedia, it's "some" autobahns, and there is a "suggested" limit of 130kmh on all of them. I was sort of correct, but not to the extent I was thinking.]
66 is a surprisingly low number of injured people for such a big pile up.I know that's 66 real people and not just a statistic, but it could have been much worse.

I am pretty surprised that there isnt an imposed speed limit on the autobahns in bad conditions but then again I suppose would expect people to have general common sense and slow down.
