    Ebuyer and preorders

Ebuyer are being typically moronic (I really, really don't like them) and aren't answering correspondence; and yet for clear pricing reasons placed my preorders for Windows 7 in various flavours.
Don't suppose anyone knows when they take payment for pre-orders? I'm guessing only when the product is available but would rather be sure.
    Moo.

    Re: Ebuyer and preorders

Don't they tell you in the confirmation email when they'll take payment?

    Re: Ebuyer and preorders

Im not sure how pre-orders work on ebuyer, but Amazon havent taken my money yet, I can only assume once they have stock and allocate to you, then they will charge you.

If you really hate them so much, use someone else.

    Re: Ebuyer and preorders

Bit late now, paid for. All well and good disliking someone but if they're going to do a product £10 cheaper than everyone else, and when you're buying 5 of them, it makes a fair whack of difference. Wont use them for anything that's likely to fail

And no, nothing in the confirmation when they'll take payment. In fact, as eBuyer are clearly not set up very well for preordering anything, you just get a warning that says "whoa boy, We've no stock! But if this is a preorder, ignore this email"

    And thats it :|

Ah well, cant have everything Cheers.

(My dislike for eBuyer is far bigger than a small annoyance like this, but I won't go into it - they've already had their punishment )

    Re: Ebuyer and preorders

I've been reasonably happy with Ebuyer - you just have to force the point with their staff at times.
Like when I bought a cheap router/wireless usb adaptor bundle and then the usb adaptor never came, I rang them up and the American (2 of them for some reason) said that the deal had expired and even though I told them I had selected the bundle she seemed to think it was my problem not hers. Things came to an impasse at this so I said to her, look I'm the customer and I'm unhappy and so she gave me a next day delivery token.
Other times they've been fine, like when I've ordered products that have unclear labelling, though it hasn't beaten Scan who forgot my red straw with the Bekin Air Blaster and then sent me a new can and straw free and didn't want the old one back. Bonus!

    Re: Ebuyer and preorders

iv preordered before with ebuyer and they dont take the cash from your account until they allocate the goods to your order.
