    64bit vista

Got my technet plus subscription through the other day, and have immediately put it to amusing use...
I'd ordered a new mobo and ram (upgrading wife's PC by giving her my old motherboard, ram and spare processor)
decided... ooh with 4gb ram i should be preparing for winders 7, but no... there was shiny and new 64bit vista
I'll admit I feel slightly dirty (that could be due to the thermal paste but never mind) but i'm surprisingly impressed.
It's quick, it's responsive and it took about an hour to restore Steam backups, Itunes and Picasa so aside from GTA4 I'm fully transferred

/hands up to just being into it too.

BUT... check your Power Settings and make sure it's not defaulted to Power Saving.

I have had V64 in for a coupe of months and ALL the time my CPU has been capped at 50% only just found it this week, thanks to Greym@a here on HEXUS who sussed my bad gaming performance was Power Saving mode.

I don't suppose anyone knows the solution to my desktop question ?
    http://forums.hexus.net/operating-sy...new-vista.html
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

    Re: 64bit vista

Heh - yeah, I've turned it up to max performance - have also disabled EIST so it should be running at full tilt
The extra 2gb of ram makes a huge difference

    Re: 64bit vista

Windows Vista runs well enough, I don't plan on buying 7.
