    Angry Public Transport FAIL

There is no wonder why most of the population use cars rather than use public transport...

Ive just had to wait 15 minutes for a bus, that was late, only to have it drive straight past me. I was quite clearly standing at the bus stop (STOP being the key word here) on the edge of the pavement waiting to get on.

It seems you just cant get anywhere without a car these days. Thats pretty much just ruined what should had been a nice day out... Not to mention the extortionate fare, that I would of had to pay and the very convenient bus times (every 2 hours...) I am literally soo annoyed!

    Re: Public Transport FAIL

I would call the company and complain mate. If this is your only method of transport into town you may get a few free tickets for the next journey. I know our local bus company does this as there have been a few times when the drivers don't stop or they go down a different road to beat traffic.

... Or they're trying to race a competitor company on the same route - so miss out the odd few passengers... which has happened to me several times.

This might be really obvious, but did you put your hand out to stop the bus?
A bus won't stop unless you put your hand out/ flag it down even if you are stood on the edge of the curb.

    LOL

I've seen those folks in Manchester who think the driver is psychic and knows they want picking up even though they don't even signal or even look towards the road.

I've not really had any issues with public transport round the Greater Manchester area. Hell - I've even been able to get home by bus at 4 am in the morning.

    Re: Public Transport FAIL

I didnt try and flag him down but tbh it was pretty clear. Its a bus not a taxi anyway and theres only one bus going from that stop.

Buses in Bristol are generally rubbish there expensive and the times are just stupid... my last bus is 5:30 and thats on a weekday LOL.

Flag down a bus??!?!?! Its not a damn taxi lol I'm sorry but if your standing at a bus stop then it does not take an IQ of 160 to work out that there is a passenger to pick up!! I mean come on lol Why else would you be standing at a bus stop? (I know there may be a few reason but generally its to get on a bus)

    Re: Public Transport FAIL

I'm sorry, but I laugh at those who expect to be picked up by a bus without sticking their hand out and make that wtf face while the bus drives on.

A few years ago, there were posters on London bus shelters with instructions on how to use the bus service. Included on the poster was a step instructing a customer to stick their arm out to let the bus driver know they intend to board, or words to that effect. At first glance I wondered who'd actually needed to read it, but after lots of laughing and this forum post I realised people do indeed need to be told the obvious.

Unless it's so obvious, I've just been trolled in to writing this essay.

Most bus stops have more than one bus route going past them, do you expect all the busses to stop and check if the people there are waiting for that perticular bus? I wouldn't expect a buss to stop just because I'm standing at a bus stop.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

    Re: Public Transport FAIL

I caught the bus down to the pub the other day, women standing at bus stop, bus stops, women fiddles in purse, bus waits, driver asks women if shes waiting for bus, she replies no, carries on rummaging in purse.

My car drive back from the inlaws last saturday took over 4 hours, normally takes 1 1/2.

You wouldn't jump into a swimming pool and expect to last long without flapping your limbs about. Sometimes you've got to put a little effort in to get something in return. Next time you're at a bus stop, flap those limbs - you'll soon get noticed
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

    Re: Public Transport FAIL

I used to have to get 4 buses a day and a bus driver going past without seeing you or just ignoring you is far from a rare occurrence. Waited a few times for over an hour and a half aswell. Cars are just a must if your to keep your sanity into your 20s.
Propably the other way round though for large citys.....
