Right, to go with the suit thread, what kind hat can a man wear at a casual/formal event without looking like:

a) The man from delmonte
b) Pete Doherty
c) Any of Peter Sellers' characters
d) A tit.

I generally wear a hat, I have a large-is collection mostly from retro stores & charity shops.

Well okay, I don't mind looking a bit of a tit, but the other categories are worse Aiming for some kind of Trilby at the moment.

I tend to trawl the charity shops for retro stuff, a trip to the dry cleaners & a local tailor are all that's needed

I have a few hats, don't wear them as much as I should.

One is a fedora, the other I'm not sure, but it's similar. Then there is my hill walking hat, my hemp Tilley Hat - http://www.tilleyuk.com/detail.asp?c...&productNo=TH5
