    best earphones for <£20?

Well i have had some razer m100 pro tone earphones and they have been great but the rubber that held the two together has degraded and i thought id make an excuse to buy new ones!. So, can anyone recommend new earphones for about £15-£20? I know the cx300's are recommended highly but the pro tones were better las time i checked, i saw some cx500's for £16 and was wondering what they offer over the cx300's? Cause the spec looks the same and i dont know if it was just different with the volume control thing on the cable.

    Any suggestions appreciated

I have a pair of cx500s and i have to say the sound quality is really good considering they're earphones (i usually use my hd555s on the computer), the only downside i would say is that when the cable is touched or hits something it makes a loud sound which drowns out the music.

    Re: best earphones for <£20?

Used to that so not really an issue. Just been searching more and came across some earphones made by "SoundMagic", these seem to reviewed highly and said to be a lot better than the cx300's. Now i found a site called mp4nation which sell them for ~£16, is this site legit? Would seem it as reviews quote the site but just want to make sure and are there any other earphones to consider?

    Re: best earphones for <£20?

No one else able to give advise? I cant find anyone who makes a comparison between the pl30's and the cx500's, normally the 500's are alot more than £16 so im wondering if they will still be better than them.

There were some really good in ear Sony ones that were like £30 but reduced to £10 at Argos, this was a while back though, they may not have them anymore

    Re: best earphones for <£20?

I'll quote what I said on an earlier thread for this:

I've had the 2 below as well as EP-630s and CX300s

"For £17 try the Soundwise T4 (half price offer - really bassy sound) or for £25 Soundwise G3s.

Or for £10 get Creative's EP-830. My partner got these the other day from ebay and although they could well be fake, I think the mids and treble are spot on while the bass is controlled. They are also the comfiest and most nosie-insulating buds at this price. (normally £30)"

    Re: best earphones for <£20?

Sorry thought i had updated my question(was posted else where ). Not really looking for much bass but more of clear vocals etc, which is why i dont use my old 630's anymore. Since you mentioned the soundwise are good for lots of bass i guess that wouldnt fit my needs?. Im basically torn between the soundmagic pl30's and the senn cx500's because people tend to mention that the pl30's are better than the cx300's, its making it hard for me to decide as the cx500's are the same price roughly so dont know whats better. So whats better, cx500 or pl30's?

Ive got Cx400's really good quality for the price.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

cx500s for 16 quid is a very good deal. i've got cx200s that i'm really happy with so i cant imagine you'd be disappointed with the cx500s. if the sound magic ones are said to be even better then it's a win-win situation at £16

    £16 = certainly fake.

    http://fakeheadphones.com/category/sennheiser-cx500/

Try Soundwise. The T4s are bassy but not muddy, a bit better than the EP-630s, CX300s. They do about 10 other models of headphones too, with different bass levels.

BTW, Play.com can no longer be trusted for genuine earbuds as everything is through 3rd parties now.

Amazon is a little better. Avoid ebay.

I have a set of Sennheiser HD-202's, they are cheap(ish) but they are the best headphones I have had in a longtime. Well worth checking out imo.

Are you able to back up this accusation, and indeed that of your previous post?

My £16 CX500s from Play.com came direct from Play, and appear to be genuine. Care to tell me I'm wrong?

    Yes.

I recently bought some EP-630s from play (3rd party) which were terrible fakes.

Those CX500 headphones are now £23 and do come direct...
