    beeb news going downhill?

Is it me, or does it seam to be getting worse?

It had bad enough coverage of the death of a certain drunk driving murder who funded the IRA.

But this one really takes the biscuit:

    from:http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8224103.stm
Others were less impressed, citing PlayStation's free online gaming and ability to play Blu-Ray discs.

"The Xbox price cut would never persuade me to get one," said Anthony Charles from east London.

"The reason I'm a PS3 man all the way is because you get all the brilliant games - and then the little extras."
    WTF is that?

Is that it? So you quote a moron who doesn't begin to justify his reasons.

When did news become about quoting the first muppet you meet verbatim?

Actually I think it's the opposite - they probably have a gamer who writes these kind of articles and who doesn't apply the usual journalistic style that the serious BBC writers use. I could be wrong, but it seems to me like they've got a newsround writer or someone to go to a store and quickly grab two opposing opinions.

That could well be the case.

I heard the full report on the lunch time newsbeat program and the contrasting opinion was from a fellow numpty, stating that it was in fact the 360 that had the best games.

A double face palm for both of them.

Also, I think newsbeat is just Radio 1? The interviewees probably listen to bass hunter

Know what you mean mate: http://forums.hexus.net/general-disc...ites-down.html

I know the BBC has to be mass appeal, but it's being dumbed down to the point of not worth reading these days.

    Haha, made me laugh.

Back on topic, there is plenty of good gaming journalists out there, i don't think it would be to difficult for the BBC to hire one of them
