When the forums get there face lift what member ratings do you think would be ideal? Or do you think Junior member, etc are good?

Some sort of theme would be good. I think there was Graphics cards before. I was only ever a riva 128. What other rating were there?

Maybe have weapons from UT2K3 or more appropriately hardware related. Maybe CPU's. You could start at something ridiculously slow like a 286 and work your way up through history's classics such as Pentium, Pentium with MMX!, Pentium Pro even the good old Cyrix could get a mention. AMD K6's eventually top spammer could be a Prommie cooled P4 @ 4Ghz!

I know someone has had a P4 up to 5Ghz with a lot of LN.

I think letting people have their own avatars (within reasonable size/dimensions constraints) and text would be better. Ranking based on post count just prompts spammage and people posting for the sake of it. Someone posting "lol" or "rofl" would be 'rewarded' the same as someone giving a thousand word answer to someone's problems or a major post in QT.

you have a point, but then again forums where everyone has an avatar imo looks a bit crap and it reduces the incentives to stay around.

I never did find out what came after GForce2 on the old forums.

I would say put the editable text next to your avatar at 1000 posts to make an extra milestone after the 500 one.

i think CPUs are a good idea for custom texts, much better than the dated Nvidia gfx cards

The CPU would reflect better as it is a bit more identifiable to some people (me).
Maybe you could stage it starting from the Intel 8086 processor

I like Registered, Member, Senior member,Mod, Admin and you cant beat the old star scheme instead of just a decimal number to represent the amount of posts.

For my 2p I think the processor idea is cool.

Cept now all we need to do is list ALL the processors and then give them a number of posts - no small feat...

Then there would be all the arguemnet about what is better, the AMD Athlons or the Intel P4s
