Can't be bothered, now :( Just spent £50 on booze at ASDA :)
I said it to myself last year, and I'll say it again: Next year, perhaps!
Good luck chaps, I'm off to oblivion. Vodka being my choice of transport :>

I'd join you, but I'm pumped full of paracetamol!
And have no vodka! :(
put a fiver on my horse to win, was told, "if he gets a clear run, he'll walk it, but no1 can predict the National" ;)
Every year, for the last million years, I've tried to pick a winner, looked at the form, listened to expert's on the TV, radio, etc, and every year, my horse has either fallen at the first, or finished 38th.
Apart from about 3 or 4 years ago. I was ill, and my mom asked me if I wanted a bet, as she was off up the bookies to put the familes bets on. I had a 10 second look at the Sun's pull-out, and picked a horse.
Fell asleep, woke up a few hours later, not knowing any of the football results or the National result.
Turned on the telly, to catch a re-run of the race, and my horse had come in. I think it was the year Red Maruder won it. So, the trick for me, seems to be to pay as little attention as possible to the race, even to the extent of being asleep during the race itself.
Bit of an akward 'lucky thing' that though, so since then, I've watched the race as normal, and haven't won a thing since.
Funny old world, isn't it? :D
good luck everyone, its saturday :)
Heh... I came back to my house for some sausages, and ended up deciding to bet:
Just In Debt @ 33/1 - £1.00
Shardam @ 20/1 - £1.50
Bindaree @ 11/1 - £2.00
Clan Royal @ 10/1 - £10.00
oh and... 50p on Conservative to win the general election at 10/3 :D
Decided to save my free £10.00 bet until I see a dead cert worth my money.. :)
Ah well...didn't win, it was an exciting race though. Commiserations everyone!
£2 each way on Amberliegh House (won), Monty's Pass (4th) and What's up Boys (fell over horribly :p)
£54 profit ;)
My sweepstake choice came in third :p
heard that it pays to bet on a horse thats completed the race the year before...rather than one that hasn't.
FENCE THREE
Unseated: Shardam.
Made it to the third fence. Better performance than normal, by the horse that I back...
:D
my mate was well angry. his horse came 2nd, so he was cursing the 1 hwo came first, only to find he'd put a fiver on him aswell and won 75 quid.
Yeah... so I don't think I will be betting on the Grand National again.. Very annoyed! He let him pass, ffs!
I was well annoyed... was in the air during the race (flying to Paris) and landed to hear my horse led to nearly the last fence and fell!
I was told Amberleigh House on Friday afternoon but didn't get round to putting a fiver on! :(
