Good news all round I think

British women are happy nowadays to wear mini-skirts up until the age of 40, according to research by Debenhams department store.

Just 20 years ago, few women would dare to wear a mini-skirt after the age of 33, the store said.

"It shows that women now have an increasing confidence in their bodies and are happy to dress accordingly," it added in a statement.

"If this trend continues, there's no doubt that, within the next decade, women in their mid 40s and early 50s will rightly regard a mini-skirt as an essential part of their everyday wardrobe."

There is such a thing as decency thou, last time i was up north, i was repulsed by some of the skin that was been shown, it was enough to put me off the thought that they where ladies. Then again Manchester 24 year olds showing wrinkled vaginal passage shouldn't mean that older ladies can't dress approprieately in miniskirts.

In Paris the ladies seem to stay slimmer and fitter longer and like to flaunt it, so I often see a hottie in a mini who, when she turns round, has a face like a scrotum. Still, most of the 40-ish women around my end (of town) look pretty damned good in a mini.

It's just a shame that summer is over, the conkers have turned brown and winter is nigh. Soon they all, young and old, will be back in long coats, warm trousers and baggy sweaters.

I'm a slim fit 45 year old and I would not be seen dead in a mini skirt! You will find me in my denim shorts and shirt though most days

Personally, my view is that there are women who look fantastic in a mini, and there are those that ... well, don't .... and age has little to do with it, certainly within the realms of ranges suggested in this thread. There are some older (and much older) women with fantastic shapes (*see note), and some younger ones that don't really have the shape to look good in a mini.

There are also those that manage to do it in a way that looks very smart, chic, stylish ..... and those that, well, don't.

But ultimately, it's down to what the lady in question chooses to wear. I don't expect other people to tell me what I can and can't wear, so if some people that perhaps should know better want to wear a mini, who am I to say they shouldn't? It's at times like that though that I thank my lucky stars I need glasses for short-sightedness... 'cos I can take them off.




(* note) Beauty is all about perception, and is in the eye of the beholder. What I thought was "really hot" when I was a teenager now probably looks to me like a barely more than a child, and what used to look to me like "old lady" is now "hot as hell". Your perceptions as change as you get older. Or mine did, anyway. And for anyone that thinks 40 is "old" .... well, you clearly still have some growing up to do yet.
