...swine flu.

I have flu so I guess its quite possible its swine flu. I'm sweating like a peadophile in a playground and I've got a fan pointed at me and I'm only wearing boxers. In about 20 mins I expect I'll be freezing cold and will have 2 down duvets.

You've got to love being ill...

Get intouch with NHS direct. They will probably confirm you have swine flu and ask for a swab sample which will arive in a couple of days.

Did not know about the swab. As for doing my bit for science I am doing a chemistry degree so hopefully I'll be doing something for science in the future!

Most NHS Direct will tell you to stay away as they are not even bothering to do swabs any more. Plus they won't want you infecting anybody else.

In real terms just do as you would for normal flu, fluids and anything to relieve the symptoms.

Whilst it is sad that people have died of it, the actual severity of infection has not been as bad as the "We're all doomed" headlines. For me it was just 48hrs of feeling run down and then I was fine again.

I had it (oink) I think a few weeks ago - the boy now has it with the same symptoms - which helps as it means I've been able to help out with his littlen over the weekend.

After the fever and sweats is the cough - that lingers for a few weeks... but it's the bit you have to watch as it can turn into Pneumonia - when you need to get the docs out.

Lots of fluids and food for energy and lots of rest and you'll be fine!

I'd ideally like to go into pharmaceuticals rather than accountancy to be honest. I know a couple of people who have moved to america to do this as its much better over there.
