Nigerians offended by Sony PS3 ad

Evidently the Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Communication, Prof. Dora Akunyili, the African republic made a statement that says he upset over Sony’s latest PS3 ad campaign.

One line in particular is an “unwarranted attack on the reputation and image of the country” according to Nigeria’s federal government.

Would that be “You can’t believe everything you read on the internet. Otherwise, I’d be a Nigerian millionaire by now.” Fictional director of rumour confirmation Kevin Butler says so in their latest ad ( I would post a link but I'm too new

yep well, all Nigeria has going for it atm is the amount of spam email it generates and that heavily built (oh so pc) lady that sometimes guests on Mock the Week and seems to think that shouting NIGERIAN is funny.

But, in all fairness to MTW producers, regardless of who else you have on the show, Frankie Boyle is a comedic, and extremely un PC genius

Because you can't buy that in Nigeria itself. In their defense, loads of them do have money, but they can't spend it on anything in country, or if they try to it costs them 3 times what it would in the UK. We've sent laptops and phones down to Nigeria for our agents down there simply because it is far cheaper for is to get it and them to pay us for it. We are sending them equipment anyway, and they are paying us as well, so it works out for both parties.
