    The Royal Mail sucks.....

Why does the Royal Mail suck.

I've had so many bad experiences with them in the last 1-2 years.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure 95% of the employees are fine, etc....This is like me saying the Railways are crap.

Earlier this year over a 2 month period I didn't recieve : 3 cheques, 2 DVD's, 2 credit card statements, one mobile phone bill, a mouse..and that's what I could track. When I tried to complain I was basically told to whistle...it took 8 weeks going between e-mail and phone departments each blaming each other to finally be told I should collect the details of al those items that had been posted to me, which of course was now over 4 months...get real.

I've also just posted a parcel and it's no show, Royal Mail say we haven't heard of it, etc. Even though it has a refernce numbe on it.

Oh and why are they going to go on strike....they make a loss....we pay taxes for it, etc....

well it sounds like a dodgy postman on your round than anything else to me.

Its far to con-incidental that so many things don't arrive.

It could be a postman or someone at the sorting office.
I had to get everything sent to my work address in the end.
Although I caught him having put a letter through our door for a different address, opened the door and handed it back to him, I went out later and found the letter just dropped on the ground...he couldn't be arsed to walk the 10 doors down the road.

Also other people don't hep the situation...if you have a letter posted through your door and it's not for your address you should re-deliver it or at least stick it in a post box with 'delivered to wrong address' ratehr han gone away or return to sender...

So some people suck aswell as Royal Mail..lazy f*wits....

Hmm, could be, but the royal mail has definitely been getting worse, things on average have been taking a few days longer to arrive, but some stuff has gone missing, and others have taken weeks to arrive

Certain areas are worse than others too, I know of a couple of London locations where stuff usually takes 2-3 weeks to arrive even 1st class, if they even receive it

Een when you complain you might as well write [i swear for no good reason] on your forehead for the good it does.....

The e-mail department tell you to call the phone department, but the can't use the internet reference number you've got, so you wait a few more days for the e-mail reply to say that they're dealing with it...goto 10.

Oi! Theres no need for language like that here. Having a swear filter is no excuse to just swear with one of the worst words. Moderate your language in the future or ill moderate you! - Butuz

Oh and on the same day that I'd just posted the compensation form.
Do they do that on purpose?

I posted something (to a bunch of idiots at a bank) recorded delivery.

It cost 92p to post a normal sized and weight letter. It was delivered, but the aforementioned bunch of ********* (too sweary to post!) claimed it wasn't, so I rang Royal Mail to get the signature, but they wanted an EXTRA £2.50!

What's the point in paying TWICE?

Why was a mouse sent to you by post? Couldn't you have picked it up at the pet shop?

Can't you use a the www.royalmail.co.uk tracking facility to see if the thing was sent.

    http://www.royalmail.com/portal/defa...nt&paf_dm=full

Then just do a print out for your bankie people!

Although mind you, I think that registered post says it's no guarantee of posted, just a way to get more of your cash!

    Yeah I agree,
Your postamn sounds well dodgy aeon, Sounds
like he should get the sack, exspcially if he did throw
that letter away...you should complain and report him.

I,m lucky in a way as my post office sorting office
is a 3min walk away, I,ve had too complain
once about a special del package which didnt
arrive on time, Not only did I complain at the p.o
sorting office, but also to the postman himslef,
    No worries since then.

Normal post i.e letters etc I always get,
and since i always require anything I
buy online via forums etc..to be sent
via rmsd...I havnt had a parcel go missing
    yet.
    Hope i,m not tempting fate

To be fair I've probably had about a 0.5% failure rate with the post office, which is still bloody high.
The amount of times they're late is unacceptable.
And trying to claim anything from them, you might aswell try to claim you're David Blunketts optician.

royal mail does suck. i done my work eperience in a sorting office, u can send mail whereever u want and it happens more often than not as all mail is just thrown from the table into a large trolly, and its easy to miss and send stuff to another country (and if its fragile, u dont throw it, u take it to the trolly and drop it from as high as u can!) . when i was there they told me thay acctually lose money from normal post - with ppls letters and stuff, they are only making money from parcels and busnesses that send out letters thousands at a time (very often, with banks etc...)
the ppl that worked there didnt seem too happy either so im not suprised about the strikes

luckly ive never had any problems with stuff ive sold, but once or twice ive bought stuff that took weeks to arrive due to post office in other areas.
