    Unhappy Keith Floyd, R.I.P.

Keith Floyd, what a man, lived life to the full & didn't care if what he did or said offended anyone, he was going to have a laugh. I respect that.

Watching him on his early shows, trying to cook, drunk as a lord & trying hopelessly to stay upright & not swear, classic. The culinary world has lost a true character.

Sad news indeed with him and Swayze passing over the bar...

    Re: Keith Floyd, R.I.P.

A bit uncanny, I was watching a documentary about him yesterday, only to find this morning that he'd passed.
It really did look like the years of booze and ciggies had caught up with him though - he looked about 80 or so, and was pretty hoarse. Still had as much charisma as he ever did, though it became apparent towards the end of the documentary he wasn't without his flaws.

Great man though, fantastically entertaining to watch - sad to hear he's gone.
    RIP.

Indeed a great loss - The First TV Cook. TBH he puts todays to shame (with the possible exception of Rick Stein who he actually brought to TV!!)
I will certainly be raising a glass of red to him tonight and if there is an afterlife then surely he'll be looking down toasting us back

What a legend, best TV chef ever. I too will be raising a glass tonight while cooking tea. Might even dust off one of his books...

I have to admit, he wasn't looking great last time I saw him on TV.

    Sad news though.

    Re: Keith Floyd, R.I.P.

The one man to continue Floyds light IMO is Rick Stein

However for tonight, we have watched Dirty Dancing (RIP Patrick)

and raised and drunk a a toast to the legend that is Keith - God rest your souls.

    Re: Keith Floyd, R.I.P.

Keith Floyd was legendary status.. a hard word to be.. Legendary.. but he was.

I shouldn't think a single person with an ounce of food knowledge or love wouldn't have heard of him, seen him and wondered how he stayed upright on TV

Random lack of recipes, awe inspiring ability to create and serve good looking food in the worst places I've ever seen anyone try to cook something.. and a love of quality ingredients before we knew what it all meant.

Floyd on France was possibly the best series... worth watching.

Keith.. Mr F... fair play Sir and may the quails eggs and vino be even finer for ever for you. S!

    Re: Keith Floyd, R.I.P.

Whenever I would sit and scan through the TV channels out of boredom I would always land upon a Keith Floyd show, the passion he had for what he was doing was truly captivating and the fact that he was almost always sauced made it very entertaining to watch .

I watched the Keith Allen documentary and was surprised how much all those "little sip's" caught up with him.

His memory lives on however in the more obscure sky TV channels.
