    Should I worry about . . .

Finding a cucumber in my fridge has gone completley frozen solid and the semi skimmed milk has turned into cheese ?

I think there might be something wrong with the fridge.

ha ha that one was bought before I ever worked ar Curry's it's something like 8 years old now that fridge.

Small fridges aren't overly expensive, can pick them up for £120 so not the end of the world to be honest.

Depends on what you intend to do with the cucumber (oooh matron) - it will turn rotten pretty quickly if it's been frozen I think but too cold cucumber + too hot milk is very strange (I'm assuming the milk isn't just out of date)

    Re: Should I worry about . . .

Was the cucumber touching the back of the fridge? Mine freezes anything that ends up touching the back even if the fridge itself isn't on that 'high' (higher number, lower temp I mean).

    Re: Should I worry about . . .

Have you checked the seal? If there was a significant leak warmer air could be getting in causing the milk to go off and the thermostat to go overboard trying to cool it down, and getting localised freezing where the cold air is coming in.

Good point... it's a clear sign the fridge is too cold.

Also, penguins in the salad tray... those little buggers love radishes!

No it wasn't at the back of the fridge, and I've had my doubts about the seal now for quite some time, in my mind it never seems to be firm enough when you open it or close it.

Just slung the dodgy milk down the sink, I stand corrected, that has frozen too !! Oddly enough the skimmed milk is unaffected.

Sometimes the seal on my fridge in the garage sticks to the main body of the fridge and pops out of the door a bit so you might be lucky and might be able to massage the rubber seal back into place. Other than that you might be able to get a new rubber seal for it but I've never known anyone to need one / get it replaced so I could be talking out of my backside

It can be done but to be honest its less hassle to buy a new one, we got this fridge about 8 years ago so its done a pretty good job me thinks.
