Easy quiz. Name the quote. First person to answer wins a license to kill.
"Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn. "

The Dark Knight.
Said by the butler dude.
michael caine...
the best quote of that film is from morgan freeman though:
"Let me get this straight: You think that your client, one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the world, is secretly a vigilante who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands. And your plan is to blackmail this person? Good luck. "

I'd kill for money, planning on upgrading my PC to an i7, with the best bits i can find
Money would be no object if i had the choice
I would - but only if i knew they had done something, and looked like a nasty piece of work, then i would enjoy my money knowing i had possibly got rid of one more.. well you know!
But if i could see the person, looked like your normal bloke, with a family etc.. Then if it came down to it i really dont think i could..
So like most other people it all depends on the what was going on in your life at the current time.
1. Your family left you becuase you where made redundent and dont have a penny to your name then im sure a lot of people would.
2. Lets say you borrowed money from some loan sharks and you where getting non ending threats and abuse then im sure a lot of people would.
3. If you lived in america and your children, your wife, your mum, who knows was seriously ill and you could not afford to pay for the treatment then im sure a lot of people would.
you cant really ask a question like that which no reason behind it.
4. Would some random heartless man who was overtaken by greed do it. No doubt about it!
That is what is quite scary about the world today, there are too many of the above.
I'd happily feed my neighbour in to a bacon slicer if it meant getting a peaceful weekend, and all for free (being woken at 2/3 in the morning every weekend for five years does that to you, I'd probably be doing society as a whole a big favour as well, loutish "$"%#£$^#'s!).
A little more seriously though, for money, it would have to be quite a sizable sum before I'd even think about it, it'd probably be a lot easier if the mark got on my nerves/irritated me in some way though.
I would, but I would want at least £50,000 per head, and promise of steady work.
I'd kill for Nectar Points
The way I look at it, theres no point in working out if they deserve to die or not, if you start mulling it over in your head about what kinda person they are etc etc then your likely to bottle it.
The less you think about it the better, quick kill, do it, game over.
Well, in my extremely unlikely scenario, that I'm a volunteer soldier in Afghanistan killing the bastards who beat women to death for leaving the home without their husband's permission, or for not wearing a burkha etc., I'd take donations to allow me to buy food, but I wouldn't pocket the change and take it home with me.
If I ever kill anybody, it'll be because I believe their death will be an overall benefit for the human race. In a one-on-one scenario, say someone tried to kill me for something I own, or simply that they're a drug or alcohol crazed loon, I can justify that because I have a job and I contribute to society. I believe that I've earned my place and my exixtence, and I won't have it taken away without a fight.
But I can never support the death penalty, for a start. If you can lock someone up forever, then there's no reason to judicialy murder them. If you have to put them in a category A (or even US style 'Supermax') prison then fine. They're not going to threaten anybody else ever again.
My mum is a rabid pacifist. She can't countenance killing under any circumstances. She may have been drunk at the time, but I gather that her idea of the right way to fight the Second World War was not to fight the Nazis, but instead allow them to invade and then defeat them through a campaign of prinicipled non-co-operation.I think you help make the point that this thread is trying to illustrate, we all have our "price", for some of us this isn't money but in fact currency in the defense of our families or our moral beliefs. We all assauge our consciences (sic?) with the idea that in these carefully defined circumstances, no we won't kill therefore we're a good person, without really thinking about the things that we will kill for and whether or not they're justified.
I don't believe that, not by a long chalk. But I do believe that taking another human life is a horrendous thing, and a decision to be taken only under extreme moral duress.
The more you say the more you seem to agree with my viewpoint that you have your price, but yours is aparently "superior" because it's not possessions, it's a moral stance. To me, that makes you seem more dangerous than someone who'd simply do it for the money because once you're going after someone you believe is "evil" they'd be no stopping you. In effect, you're expressing the same views as a fanatical terrorist.
I'm not trying to criticise you for this by the way, but the viewpoint is fascinating to someone like me who'se moral beliefs are inflexible but still choses to live day to day life without following them.

Kill for money? I'd kill Gordon Brown for three tesco clubcard points and a rolled up copy of yesterdays metro if you handed me the rifle.

Spend the clubcard points?!
There'll be none of that round here, if labour make it back in they'll end up a stronger form of currency than the pound so I'm saving them!
