Do you know what I've found Marmite is very good with...

Cheese

It's good either on a cheese sandwich or even on cheese on toast, the 2 flavours seem to compliment each other and make an easy and cheap tasty combo :)

Vegemite is okay, but can't beat Marmite. Marmite also gets bonus points for being made from beer byproduct.

+1 for Marmite here. It's also excellent on "soldiers" for dipping into boiled eggs - the saltiness goes perfectly.

Vegemite here. Each time I go home I buy several of the big 500g jars.
I also appear to have influenced the step daughter, she now steals my vegemite. I'm still working on the rest.

I also have a secret love for Promite...but keep it quiet. :secret:

I voted Vegimite, but that's because I prefer the Kraft version of Marmite from down under. The Marmite up here just doesn't hit the spot.

Damn you for reminding me of found I miss. Next I'll be missing:
- Pineapple Lumps
- L&P
- Minties
- Hell's Pizza (okay, I can get this in London, but I'm not traveling 6 hours just for a good Pizza)
- Decent Hot Chocolate (Costa's good, but it's not that good).
- Chocolate Fish (it's marshmallow, not actual fish)
- Creme that doesn't come in 3 varients and is fresh from the cow
- Fantastic Noodles
- Butter Chicken from the Curry King in Tawa.
... damnit. :(

Been eating a lot of honey on toast recently though. Very tasty and gives you a massive sugar rush. Which is handy for me as I have a habit of dozing back off as soon as I sit down in the morning :P

I have had the Australian versions of things like Kellogg's cornflakes and Mars bars and IMHO they taste better than the ones made for the UK market.

I voted for Bovril,

Personally i usually just go for bread and butter/spread. However, i do like a bit of Bovril on the odd occassion when i'm in the mood for it. Not too often though as the rich Beefy goodness can get a bit much after a while.

Marmite i find is nasty, never tried Vegemite, but as it's also yeast extract based i'm sure i'd hate it too.

Try it with bacon as well, it's yummy :D

Marmite for me, though I don't think my decision is informed enough so I may have to try vegemite and get back to you :)

I for one and shocked and appalled at this blatant prejudice towards chicken products we have seen on Hexus here lately. I am going to be removing Hexus from my favourates.

Both, bovril on toast (can't drink it though) is lovely (trick is to put the margarine on just out of the toaster so it melts into the bread before putting the bovril on, and not use too much bovril, scrape it into the bread) - the "meal" is an old war/post-war thing passed on by my grandmother (it was originally invented to keep armies marching in the 17th century too!)

I can't drink it either but on toast, it's the best.

There are two ways I like my Bovril on toast, as above (but with butter) so it all melts or the toast cools a little so the butter stays solid and put a thin scrape of Bovril over the top. Nom nom nom nom!

I also like Marmalade in the latter format but not with Bovril as well.

I've been eating it for years, on my eighteenth birthday Bovril sent me a huge catering tub of the stuff with a note wishing 'Our best customer' a very happy birthday. :D

My Uncle wrote to them, explaining I had been a dedicated Bovril-eater since I was a tiny tot and said it would be nice if they sent me a card to mark my birthday. Instead, I got a note and a catering tub (about the size of large pot of house paint.) I used the entire tub, (I think I still have the empty one somewhere, I keep stuff in it.) It took a while but I did it!

Vegemite is made from vegetarians and tastes like salty poo.

Yes but Marmite is made from the droppings of Marmots (Marmot ****e) which is why people who eat it have bad breath and grow unusual amounts of body fur.
