BBC iPlayer vs ITV Player vs C4oD

Lo people,

Who uses them all often? Anyone car to compare?

Cos I can get BBC iPlayer to run on this laptop wirelessly smooth as silk... but am still waiting for the first of the C4oD programs to finishing "loading" or buffering or whatever it's doing....

tried last night.... tried today.... still won't play.

Do ITV spool the entire thing before you can watch? Cos right now BBC iPlayer is kicking it to death.

Or am I missing something? Please enlighten moi

its me or the dog s05e01 on 4oD starts playing in less than a second, im a celebrity on itv player about 3 seconds

4od is OK, I refuse to watch ITV on principal.

iPlayer surpasses everything.

I've never tried the anything apart from iPlayer, but the boss at work moans on at me every so often saying how crap his internet is when he goes to the ITV site and the 4oD, so I'm guessing their services ain't all that clever.

BBC iPlayer is the top dog in the stakes of online on demand services. 4oD was great when they had the dedicated application for watching the video now that its all online half the programs they offered are nowhere to be seen. 5 on Demand is alright but I find when I use it to catch up on the gadget show etc it will get half way through show an advert and then it forgets where it was and you start from scratch again. The ITV player is the worst of the bunch, small picture size, laggy, constant adverts and when you do make it full screen to see any decent picture size it goes pixelated and in turn becomes useless.

Well surely it all depends on what program you want to watch you cant watch eastenders on ITV player and i dont like the adverts on 4od.

But as there is a MULTITUDE of stuff to watch on BOTH and no where near enough time to watch it all..... I'm using iPlayer cos I can't get ITV to do anything!

They should all come together to make a universal player, doubt it would ever happen though! never tried ITV player becuase they dont have anything worth watching! corrie anyone?

The quality of ITV's footage is quite rubbish after enjoying the BBC's output.
Then again ITV's off-air picture quality is now even more appalling than I've ever seen it before. Ignoring the program itself but X-Factors picture quality grates when you consider it's prime time and as their flagship you'd expect decent footage.

4 and 5's servies are ok but as you've found, the load times are a buttache.

Regardless iPlayer beats them all for quality, functionality and available content.

iPlayer is by far the best player, but in terms of content 4OD is king. They've got some many classic series available, and not just the last 7 days. It has been a while since I tried it, but last time I used the ITV player is was absolutely awful.

Currently looking a nettop setup mainly for watching Iplayer, 4OD, etc stuff. The qulity of Iplayer is excellent. Probably getting this

iplayer/itvplayer/c4od all work perfectly on Virgin TV for us.
