ninty-six kilobytes. the entire game fits into ninty-six kilobytes. try it. disconnec form the net first if you're suspicious. all the levels, textures and sounds are created at runtime based on a bunch of algorithms in the code.

IIRC they generate the textures by only storing how they are made. During startup they are actually done, hence why it takes so long.

It's rather amazing. Not much of a game gameplay-wise ;) but fascinating nonetheless.
Sure takes ages to load for a 96kb game ;)
it loads instantly. then it generates all the textures from scratch. THAT takes time :P

Didn't someone release a demo called the produkt (sp?) a while back?
i might be wrong (prolly am), but isnt it so small because it doesnt actually contain textures, just the instructions for how to 'draw' the textures kinda thing - farcry would take a couple of days to load!

I've been following them since "the product," their first 64kb presentation. Truly remarkable stuff.
Of course, it relies entirely on the capabilities of the computer it's running on so different computers give you a different viewing quality. For example until this Rad 9000 gets replaced with the 9600Pro, that 96kb fps runs at about 15fps!
i turned on full AA + AF on my 9600pro and ran it again and it crashed out after about 2mins of playing. fine without AA+AF on tho.
considering its size its fairly intensive. but as Kez says above the size doesnt mean much. im still impressed. its fun just to load up n have a blast. quite literally.
mine does the same as swafemans?
consider that the EXE for the average game is about five meg, plus textures sounds etc on top of that
96kb is about the size of solitaire plus freecell.
