MY BRAIN HURTS!
You drag the various thing on to the 'Grow' sign, and then they appear. Depending on the order you drop them, they do various things. The idea is to get all of them levelled up until they've maxed out by the time you've used them all up. Just try dropping different ones in different orders.
Oh, and different ones max out at different levels, you'll have to figure out which ones take the least to max out.

If you're getting the Volcano, you've got something wrong.
The robot is completed by the ladder.
The globe shouldn't take-off until within the last two drops.
Just pay attention to which ones take longer to max out and try to get some of those in first.
