We watched it! and I agree! it was brilliant felt so sorry for Hammond when Clarkson was telling him facts about creepy crawlies
Did you watch the best tv show of the decade? Top Gear was voted no1
I really enjoyed it too! Possibly not quite as good as the last Vietnam special (begin forum war III ).
Seriously though, it was brilliant. I felt for Hammond, but. I thought the bit where Clarkson left his iPhone behind on a pole and had to fetch it was pretty funny, in a weird kind of way.
Great episode anyway!
I thought the death road bit was amazing, especially when he had to pass another car, what if two buses meet?
I thought it was a very good episode. It had the usual staged bits, like Clarkson kneeling in the water. But things like overtaking on that mountain road seemed pretty genuine and I was getting a bit dizzy at the thought of it. There wasn't a lot of gratuitous knobbing about, which made it so much better.
I wonder how many complaints they'll get about destroying the rainforests. At least they went there and killed it in person instead of wiping out a dozen unknown species with vegetarian farts in Maidenhead then blaming it on the dog.
Great episode all round - i even wondered if the Beeb would release this as a DVD special?
- Another poster, from another forum.I'm commenting on an internet forum. Your facts hold no sway over me.

Death road is very real, nothing staged about that!
Amazing how fast the O2 drops off though , you're not supposed to fly above 10,000ft without oxygen onboard and they were at what.. heading for 17000?
Breathtaking episode, as I thought the part especially with the high elevated lands was incredible - looked like they were driving across Mars! Highly envious of what they get to do for work...
I don't know about you guys but it really made me want to visit those places now - I'm okay for rainforests though, I've been lucky enough to explore tropical rainforest many times
I have never explored a rain forest. I have been to the New Forest in Dorset though, wonderful country pubs and Ferrari dealership in Lyndhurst. Wonder if they will do a special episode from there?
Death road was my favourite bit. I was bricking it for them.

Although the cynic within me did laugh when you could clearly see a cameraman standing in the background out of the window just before one of Hammond's 'breakdowns'.
I enjoyed it, although I thought it was a bit too long...
My main reason for watching it was that I lived in Bolivia for a couple of years, and remember the Yungas roads well, and the incredible scenery around the Chilean border. Their treatment of the "death road" was pretty true to how I remember it. Since I was there they have constructed replacement routes for some parts of it, so I'm not sure if they were on the exact same road that I remember, although I certainly recognised some parts.
It was entertaining, if a bit long. Worth it for the scenery alone though. You're not telling me that they do all that without a full medical team, a truck load of spares attended by grease monkeys and a well worn script? And the "I'm afraid of insects bit" - larf, so faked. If not, he should have stayed home in middle class suburbia.
Goood episode, and was glad of something decent to watch at last!
