Who would like to win a 6800Ultra?

Well guys not being funny - until you start entering the simple compos to win the games and like we can not pursuade NVIDIA to give us a card to give away - we need to see some sort of interest!

    Yeah - I'd love to win a 6800Ultra

I don't think ANYONE on this forum would say no to winning one

No lads, its not a face value question. David's saying take more interest in the compos for games and stuff, and watch as the prizes get better.

I agree with David... I'm running a compo right now, it's pretty simple, just make up something, e-mail it to me and win a game... so far I've had just TWO entries...

Hardly an inspiring response, for those that run the compo and, more importantly, for trying to blag something to give away.

what competitions have their been? a couple of ones for games, and a couple of cooking ones? or have i missed some really big/obvious ones...?

anyhow i'm sure a 6800ultra would go down nicely...

i havent had any stupid ideas today, so heres the first - how about a raffle?
everyone paypals £1 (or more for multiple entries) to hexus, their name goes on a list (more money, more times on the list)... once you have got enough money to purchase said prize (ie £400/£500 - depends how many people enter) and maybe a couple of 2nd/3rd place prizes.. randomly choose the winner(s) from a list.. no money is lost (other than those who paid £1 and didnt get anything), and someone gets a nice shiney prize for the price of a lottery ticket (with much much better odds)?

or is that just really really stupid and not gonna work?

Umm, they were on the Hexus.net front page... as well as pimped here in GD and AS WELL as stickies in their respective forums... as I even put up a reminder thread here in GD for the cookery compo.

Who would like to win a 6800Ultra?
Acctually not me, however I wouldnt say no to a ati rx800 (please )
If I was to win the 6800u I would probably just sell it... - probably worth a lot too.

one thing about the competitions on here is there usually too difficult/take too much effort - maybe im just too lazy . I do enter them if theres something I want but the last competition I did had 20 hard to answer questions (becuase they were burried in a long review) and also something funny on the end, took me about an hour....

erm, one of them was for a game I wasn't interested in, and another is for a wok, which I don't need..

I'd rather not enter and let someone else have a chance at winning

Wouldn't say no to the 6800 though

I have entered a couple in the past I think, but yeah as said the game I wasn't interested in, nor the Wok, so I didn't see it necessary to enter.

But I'll certainly enter other compos

Right, lets cut the fanboy ballrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish right here. I am not in the mood to discuss a prize here, I am talking about the principle. I pump time and money in to these forums, as do other moderators.

If you guys just want somewhere to talk without any interaction we will scrap any competition ideas. What is the point in me bothering to do high end give aways if I only get a couple of responses. If you guys can't be arsed to enter the compos for simple things then I won't bother. We did these as a benchmark.

Corsair want to give away 3 1GB packs of ram, but without doubt this wont be the right RAM for you guys or the wrong speed - talk about ungrateful.

You guys seem to be totally missing the point of this thread, I am trying to drop subtle hints - you get what you give.

Can people try and read this thread, it is not a competition and it is not going to give out a prize, what I would like is people to acknowledge that effort is needed from you and use.
