    Question Wimbledon

Anyone here live, work or drive/commute around the Wimbledon area? I need to drive there from the M3 J1 on Friday evening about 5:30pm to 6 o'clock and although my Nat Sav and Route Planner are suggesting a 35 minute drive, I need to know how bad the traffic is likely to be?

The route will most likely be:

    A316 to North Sheen
    A205 to Wandsworth
    A217 to destination

I know the A316 is pretty bad, but how bad will the others be? Am I looking at a 1-1.5 hour drive?

    Re: Wimbledon

What is your final destination mate? There may be a better way than that... Wandsworth will be a nightmare at that time on a friday too. I would budget 1.5 hours on that route deffo.
    Not around too often!

    The dogs.

However, after speaking with someone I work with, we now have an easier route. It still involves going down the 316 but then turning off before Wandsworth and going in the "back way". I don't know it, but she does, so should be OK.

I do hope you mean Sunbury (where I live), Sudbury is about 100 miles away!

Come to think of it, I think she did say something about the A3. I think I'll just let her direct me rather than the Nat Sav, might actually get there then!!

    I hate Wimbledon

I don't mean it as a place.. I mean getting there by car.

It is hellish. I wish you well my dear chap... every road is hell.

I live in Buckinghamshire.. I used to go to Wimbledon monthly. It is QUICKER for me to get to Norwich or Kingslynn, or Lincoln.. than to get to Wimbledon.

    Re: Wimbledon

Moby has it pretty much spot on as long as you can get on the A238 or the A298 either from the A3 then it's pretty much easy sailing to the stadium depending on traffic of course.

Edit: Hah looking from the original post, you're already on your way .

Unfortunately, we weren't. The trip to the dogs was postponed, so have plenty of time to plan another route.

P.S. I've been working in IT too long, I keep typing "router" instead of "route"...
