I'm a bit young to bit in the 8-bit era, but I must say I love a bit of 8-bit music.
16-bit stuff can be OK, but the samples are neither here nor there most of the time - they're usually better when they nod towards their 8-bit predecessors.
edit: Also, just watched that 16-bit Amiga vid - parallax scrolling FTW!
