I occasionally catch the tail end, or beginning of episode of Friends. I've realised that they're just not funny. Yet, I used to find them funny.

As such I intend to remember the "original run", and add it to my list of things kids don't know about that I can shout at them for.

    To you...

The episodes understandably do lose their appeal with such a level of repetition. The earlier ones seem awful now when compared to later seasons imo.

I vote for My name is Earl and Big Bang Theory to replace Friends

They definitely seem less funny than I remembered them. Mind you, I made the mistake of re-watching Blake's 7 back in the 1990s and I really should have left them where they belonged in my memory (watching them with my father when I was a youngster!)

The Big Bang Theory and Two And A Half Men would get my votes as replacements.

Re: In years to come your children will ask.....

I think they're not funny as I've probably seen every damn episode over 20times each over the years. There certainly are some classic bits & it's funny how memorable some are after all this time.

Might buy my wife the 15th Anniv box set for £30 as she loves it but only has a few of the 'slim' sets, what a good hubby!

Re: In years to come your children will ask.....

I never really watched them incessantly, still probably have only seen a third of the episodes or less - just used to catch them because my mum watched them all the time.

As a result, I still quite enjoy them, although I haven't watched any on E4 or the like in a while now.

I'm just amazed they stayed for so long, it was such a running joke with Channel 4. I'm sure Dead Ringers used to pick up on it fairly routinely.
